Gearbox leak

Create at least improvised valve from duct tape to fix the issue with drain temporarily. Otherwise it was wasted time.

Great diagnostics here from team A2OC. I'm still gaining experience here without having to go through the pain.....Thanks.

Truth be told I am having a mare with gear oil.
Fitted a MZN box all good drives great but noticed an oil leak on top of the box following a 150 mile round trip. Checked oil level and oil came out so presumed I had overfilled it as I drained the box when purchased but only about half a litre came out, so I simply poured 2l of fresh oil in.
Rechecked the level today and contaminated, murchy oil came out so thought right best drain the lot and see what's going on, only got about half a litre of oil out. Tried putting some preloved oil in to swill it out and see how quickly that oil came out (it takes an age) but found oil was flowing back out of the fill bung despite only half a litre poured in and drain bung still removed!?. left the box draining for a few hours then thinking of filling thru breather to see if this gives a true reading at the fill/level bung.
The bonnet drain cup was in place and aligned but have found debris the rubber thingy stopping flow so think it's backed up and allowed water to get in thru the tower but in fairness I find the whole situation baffling!!
