I'm hoping somebody out there can help me. My 1.6 is off the road because a small hose has sprung a leak and I need a replacement.

To be honest, all the details of a potential Wanted ad are already in this thread, and already two possible sources have turned up. Not going to make a big Admin point out of that, but I will say, as well as allowing you to place future Wanted ads, Market access will open up all sales of A2s and A2 parts within the forum to you, that often don't get advertised on the usual market sites.

I saw that Pamela is a new member, so, (probably), wouldn't know about the existence of the market place. When a new member joins, couldn't we make them aware of the market place, and give them an opportunity to join there and then? Sort of "welcome message"
If you can't see it, how would you know?
I was not trying to make a point, just be helpful.
Mac.

View attachment 119962Thanks, and I'd certainly be glad to be back on the road.
The part I need is marked 27 on this diagram, but I cannot seem to get its part number.
I'm very happy to send the £2 but do I need an email address to send it to?

sorry for being misleading earlier - you put your mouse pointer over the little magnifying glass by the obscured link and the part number appears both on screen and then as the URL when you click it (on a Macbook mind you, can't speak for other platforms).

Schlauch in German means pipe (from memory).

part number for 27 is 8Z0121051

best, Robin

You've done nothing wrong at all Mac, and thank you for being helpful to the OP :) There is a Welcome email that goes out to all new registrations on approval, which includes details of what the Market's for and how to upgrade to access it, but it doesn't always get through spam filters etc. I didn't push this thread towards the Market initially, because it was clear the OP wasn't sure which part she needed, and it's great that members have responded so readily to help identify and offer it. I could have worded that post better and apologies for any confusion, but what I meant was that it's been such a successful thread that a Wanted ad for the part is pretty much unnecessary now - and with my Admin hat on, that's fine by me 👍

Hi @P Randall - Did you find a solution to this? If not I can help sourcing that new pipe from Audi Tradition for you.

Cheers,

Stuart
Thanks Stuart. The car is back on the road but with an improvised part. I would like to buy the proper part if you can source one for me
Good Evening,

@P Randall

IF it is 8Z0121051 then this is no longer available from Audi, but is available new from Audi Tradition.

We have ways and means to ship to UK but it will take a week or two.

Andy
Hi Andy,
Thank you for the link. That looks just right and I am trying to order the part, but I get this message -
An error occured! (S303): Country GB is part of the exception table.
Do you know how to get around this? I do have an eori number I can use.
I would also like to order a new cap for the coolant chamber

Hi Pam - sending you a private message with the details.

Cheers,

Stuart
Okay, not sure where to find the private message, but no doubt it will turn up.
I have had difficulty with getting the Audi Tradition website because of living in GB.

Good Evening Pam,

As most likely been explained by now Audi Tradition have refused to deal with ordinary UK residents since Brexit, something about difficulties handling VAT. Club members have now been forced to buy from AT through a kindly EU club member who buys and posts it to the UK on provision of funds such as Stuart. I think you are unique member having an EORI number and being an ordinary individual I have no experience of EORI trading and can only suggest you contact AT to resolve your problem but it will likely be quicker and easier to deal with Stuart.

.To your your last question, the coolant tank cap has part number 1J0 121 321 B and can bought from a myriad of vendors, (including Audi I expect = expensive), of products from many manufacturers. The brand Febi have a good name and this suggestion is probably as good as any, not an expensive part.

Andy

Not sure if you have managed to get a replacement but have you tried a local Car spares store? I'm meaning somewhere like Bullseye, not Halfords who seem to function on "Just in Time"?

If the issue is a split in the hose near the clamp can the hose be shortened a little and re-instated?

Or maybe one of these chopped to size?

Just a few options.
You don't need a genuine Audi part!
