Hi firstly I will say I hav searched both here and google and have tried every single permiation of every remote unlock fob reprogram technique I can find and I cannot for the life of me get any to work.
Back story
Car came with two keys one we have always used to both start the car and one we put away safely as a spare.
Yesterday my wife could not find her keys so she got the spare out only to find firstly it would not unlock through remote central locking (possibly flat possibly unsynced) I advised her to unlock door manually, then when she tried to srart the car it would not start, the imobiliser light (small car with key) was flashing, so I advised her unfortunalty it looked as though the spare key was either broken (imobeliser chip) or had never worked since we had the car (perhaps garage just gave us an old ley that worked in physical lock but not imobelizer)
Luckily she found her keys and off she went.
This morning I thought I would check both keys, key that works to remote unlock and start car worked fine, second key would not remote unlock and would not deimobilize just as she described.
At this point I thought I may as well set the second key to remote unlock even though it would not start the car (long term plan to get that sorted next)
I went through a couple of resync processes found here with working key in ignition duff one in door lock, took them both out and yay lucky me now the working one will not remote unlock the car.
I have been through every guide to gewt the key that was working going again, i have swapped the blade so that the key that can imobilise is in ignition remote module in door and vice versa no joy.
I susspect my issue is that the second set will nbot deimobilize the car.
Can someone explain how the sytem actually works, I assume there is a transponder in the ignition barrel reading the key is there one in the door lock as well? If so is there any way I can reporgram the working imobilier key to remote unlock just using the one key?
Sorry long post but I know if I give all the facts more chance someone can help?
Thanks in advance
Joseph
