Little One

Bought a used sender from Audi Tradition store https://trshop.audi.de/konakart/Welcome.do

Better deal than other part dealers on the web, really. Added a screen washer arm because the little switch on the top is little loose on mine and to save on shipping :)

They have plenty of used parts over there, I wonder if the yellow steering wheel would be cool :)

Good work, Darko. :p

Let us know how you get on, I'm interested to hear if your sender issue will be fixed. :)

Matt.

But which one is your favourite? Our A2 shares a drive with our A4 avantand the A4 is practically neglected in comparison with the attention I give the A2.

The A3s are identical inside, I used to switch between them often, before I got the A2.
I drove over 40000 km with A2 since I got it. It sure gets more attention than the others.

Audi Tradition store wraps good and safe and ships fast.
Fuel sender and screen wiper switch landed yesterday. A week after the purchase, not bad.

The parts were realy packed good, I just removed all the wrappings to check the parts :)

Looks like you'll have fun with 1xtippen in a few days, mine arrived today.

Installation instructions are perfect for a dummy like me:
-remove lower cubby box
-pull hazard light relay forward
-uncover the plug of the hazard light relay
-plug in the plug of the new cable between the plug of the hazard light relay switcher and the hazard light relay
-fix the control unit with the cable screwing

I'm doing it in the morning, if I manage to identify the hazard light relay :)

You can't miss it, it is tucked away at the back but it is the only relay in the area (it is hazards and indicators in one relay)

I am assuming that you know the tip on how to get the cubby box out?

I don't know the tip, Steve. Is there a special move involved, or I can just pull it out?

The instruction says to put both hands inside and pull it out.

Just put one hand in and make a fist so that it is a tight fit and PULL !!

It does work, I find it easier than using two hands.

Cubby hole was easy to remove.

But disconnecting the plug from this hazard piece, placed behind some plastic bars!? In tight space!?

komfortblinker1.jpg

Well, something has to be chopped, in this case these plactic bars, which actually wasn't holding the hazard piece tight anyway (I guess it's worth checking that for rattles!!!). I think one of them was missing already, doesn't matter...

After that, no problem at all.

Connected. 1xtippen 3xblinken. Perfect.

Now, the kit needs more space than I thought.
I have to figure out where to stuff it.
Maybe I'll chop the back of the cubby, it's too deep anyway :)

Thanks for your help, Steve and others who did this before!

The flasher unit slides out to the left when you compress the spring clips on the side.

Yes it can be tricky and many people break the mounts, but once you have it out you can see the clips.

As for the space, normally there is space to at the back to slide things down at the very back?
