LUPO 3 L 1.2 tdi

If you cannot move the lever, it does suggest a faulty brake light switch. These are cheap to replace. The noise you can hear is the clutch actuator keeping the clutch open.

How many gear changes can you make with the ignition on, foot on the brake, engine NOT running and in Tiptronic mode before the pump starts again?

When was your last successful gearbox/clutch basic setting done (in km)?

The problem is probably not the starter motor, otherwise it would not start at all.

hi

when taht happens i can move de lever,i dont remember idf i tried on all positions, next time it happens as you said i will try to put starting on Neutral,
and see if lever moves to triptronic, but i think it moves.
Yes last month it was made a clutch adjustment, it was with 0,50 volts,
and needed 1,8--2,0 volts.

hi

the problem i had with the time i have to wait until have ignition (about 20 seconds) is resolved, it is not the acumulator, since i have done a clutch adjustment, since then when i open the door usualy the acumulator start doing noise but it was not doing that.
i had talk to someone who had the same problem , and replaced the closing the driver's door wich have a sensor,i replaced and now start working , and my plafonier light also who doesnt lit when door open, now it lits:
That sensor controls the acumulator and plafonier light.
BUT i had i small problem wich is not relevant that is when lights are lit,
and door open it must do an acustic noise, and my car doesnt do that noise.
Any body knows what it could be ? fuse ?

It is the pump you can (or should) hear when you open the driver's door. However, it will only run if required. The accumulator or the pump are not affected by a basic setting. The accumulator is just a device for storing hydraulic pressure.

Does your car run with the lights on? If so, you don't have a problem.

hi

yes but as i said the problem was not the acumulator, but the sensor
on the door, that when it is open , the acumulator start working, and in my case it was not doing that, the reason i had to wait 20 seconds or more.
About the lights ,yes i have lights, it is not important the acusticc noise,
but if you know what it could be ? a simple thing, i can resolve easily

Control of the interior light and the hydraulic pump are separate, one switch does not control both. The switch that controls the pump is attached to the driver's side door lock.

Hi RAB,

I found your topic about starter problem, and you said it is possible to bypass the rely at the back of the starter. could you please tell me how can I do it?
Actually I have a strange problem. In the cold weather, the starter acts so strong, but in warm weather, it is too slow (like a weak battery-but the battery is OK), and some times I have to hit the solenoid with the rod to make the start possible. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

If you have a faulty solenoid the only solution is to replace or repair the starter motor. My 'solution' was to bypass the sensor/switch on the end of the starter motor, which I think protects the motor from overheating with frequent stop/starting. It is enclosed where the plug-in connector is situated. To bypass this just make up a lead to plug into the existing lead and connect this directly to the solenoid.

Hi RAB,

I did your trick, but unfortunately the problem was due to the solenoid. So, I ordered a new one. I have a question about clutch adjustment. Can I do it by myself? should I connect VAG-com to the port in cigarette box, or I should connect it to the clutch system ( where is its port?) ? Can a non VW work shop do it for me or it was developed for 3L engines, and they are unfamiliar with it?

You can do it yourself but of course you need VCDS or vag-com, as would anyone else or it's equivalent. The port is under the ash tray. Vag-com is universal for VW, Audi etc, not just 3L. Any competent VAG independent should have it.
