Newbie

I tried getting the other half to have one years ago but she bought a polo tdi with a similar engine . Thought I'd better get one tbh as the rs4 has gone and I'm poss looking for something with two seats and a v8 to replace that . The a2 will be a sensible option if I don't use one of the vans or her asthmatic fiat 500
.

I found that when I had a few tasty cars on the drive I still opted to go everywhere in the A2, it just seemed such a sensible car and yet not boring in the least!!!

A friend had two a couple of years back and came round for a part for his car in one and he was raving about his
.

That will be you soon LOL

I also defy you (once you have started using it) to NOT use the word "TARDIS" when describing it to others !!!!!

I'm liking the Escorts, nice and showroom condition.I would if i had the space and the hefty bank balance they command now.I'm not keen on the B5 RS4 but what was your beef with it? As for the B7,superb cars imho, had a brand new one on hire in Germany for a week, covered well over thousand miles and loved every minute of it,despite it being diesel. You'll laugh, I'm sure, but the B7 felt like a game changer for me a bit like the B4 was when it appeared being so much better all-round than it's predecessor.:p What model B7 have you got?

Rs4 , the b5 was very rapid but a bit iffy suspension wise . Had a sorted s2 and that was unchariatic too, engine was great but the rest was crap which essentially the b5 was the same as . B7 is epic and very very good but very spec sensitive

I picked up my a2 last night and it's a credit to the one previous owner , drives excellent and he has really cared for it . 05 plate se Tdi with black leather and a few other options . Full history and bizarrely supplied by the dealer I use in Doncaster so going back there for a service . I've clay bar cleanse it today , taken a bit of marring off it and put some wax on it , fed the seats and just changed the headlight bulbs .

Beautiful. Full DIS and factory rubber mats as well. What a lovely late model example. A great find. Do you have any plans for it or will it jusg be an original example?

Really nice and the best colour in my opinion. Such an amazing low mileage for a TDI as well.

Fantastic condition, it really does look in "showroom condition" and then some.

Looking forward to seeing it at an A2 event this year?

Staying as standard , detail the underside too . It's got matts under the rubber matts too . It's got a few stone hips and that's it . Very impressed with it although I may get another to Poole around in and detail this a bit more

Wow, great looking A2.........................and the low millage is amazing.....................if you come across another like that..........private message me dood.........:)

Not really ! I do concourse with an old ford escort rs , that gets the underside polished etc

This is starting to sound very familiar! I have recently bought a lowish mileage grey TDI (although 82k), really original and came with rubber mats over the carpet mats and loads of Audi History and I now have the bug to keep it immaculate when it was supposed to be the work horse, now thinking another extra A2 would be nice!

And like you I have a concours car -but this time a MK1 Golf GTI And just about to enter my TT this year in concours as well.

Hi John, your A2 looks great. What colour is it and what products do you use to get such a fantastic shine ?
I colected my new A2 over the weekend. Pine green with OS and 15200 miles on the clock. First registered May 2001 at Poole Audi.
The paint work is clean but needs a really good polish and wax. I've heard of clay bar, but never seen or used it or know what it does.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Graham

It's dolphin grey , I've only zipped over it with a clay bar and not taken any contaminants off as the owner was very fastidious . I did a quick flick over a couple of panels to get the odd mark off then lobbed some chemical guys black light on it just to protect it as I was going to give it a run on Sunday to the railway at Loughborough . I've just washed it and dried it off using a pile of micro fibres spraying rapid detailer on them ( made locally ) ... Came up great . Fed the seats with wax Angel stuff . When you get into it , it is easy .
I've just ordered new discs and pads to start the wheel arch detailling in the next few weeks

Thanks for that John. Its many years ago that i did concours . Used to have a 1970 Karmann beetle. Car cleaning products have changed so much since then.
Bit in the dark at moment so much miracle stuff to choose from !

I also used to have a 1970 karmann Beetle cabriolet...."FWB747H".... its still alive but a different colour. Back then I think the only detailing product available was turtle wax. :)
