Odd Symphony behaviour

Yesterday I got in the car and the backlighting of the Symphony head unit was on. It wouldn't switch on at all either. This was odd as nothing else was on - no ignition, no lights. When I fired up the car, the head unit was still in the same state - backlighting on but completely dead. I have since pulled Fuse 2 (which was intact) and obviously the back-lighting went off. I put the fuse back in - and as it went in, there was a bit of a spark.... but the head unit started behaving normally after the CD mech whirred a bit.
Should I be worried? Does anyone know what happened? Is this typical behaviour for a Symphony head unit?
Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Hi Richard,

This behaviour is not normal, and does indicate a fault. That fault could be a one-off random occurrence, or it could be an indication that the unit is starting to fail. Unless it happens again, we don't know.

All the best,

Tom
