Project Pine Green 1.6

I need to find a later mode door loom now to also fit a matching passenger one.
Evening Steve,

I should have exactly what you're after. It'll be the weekend before I can get to it to provide pictures though. Whatever I have is yours FOC Sir.

Kind regards,

Tom

That would be excellent Tom, it’s the one with the smaller connector rather than the flatter wider one.

Hi Steve,

Don’t have OEM here to compare the looms to but have these pictures available from the garage:

Guessing this isn’t the type you’re after:

I’m thinking this is the type you’re after

If neither of these are what you’re after then I suppose they’re for the rear windows as cannot remember right now. I’ll be able to get access to the rest of my spares on the garage tomorrow evening or over the weekend.

Kind regards,

Tom

Not sure if this helps Tom, but it’s to fit this style of switch. So I think it’s a 4 pin connection.

(Obviously not my fingers as they are far too clean).

Is the grey connector with pink clasp correct for your application.

Kind regards,

Thanks Tom, i'll just give that one a go. It looks a perfectly good match in your car. Probably best you keep yours incase you need to touch up anything.

Combined with some volico for the plastic parts it should come up nicely,
Hi again Steve,

Totally up to you Sir as I’ve no use for this product now since switching to Black leather items.

Happy to send it to you.

Kind regards,

Tom

That’s perfect mate, that’s exactly what I need.

And if you are sure you don’t need the leather dye then that would be gratefully received too.

I’ll send you something to cover postage now.

Evening Steve,

The dye and loom will be in the post in the morning Sir. You help so many of us out and don’t usually seek assistance from the community, very glad I’m able to help out on this occasion.

The car is looking fantastic by the way.

Kind regards,

Tom

Are they madeby Dents?
No, got them through a chap called Jeremy who runs a business called Greycar. Aside from A2’s, as a family we’re very involved with Lotus cars from the 50’s and 60’s and a decent pair of driving gloves is helpful, though in the winter I tend to favour something rather more substantial!

Hello Steve,
Just run through all pages. That is one lovely car.
But I have problem related to your. I can do hardware no problem but computers and stuff like that not so good.
Could you write up more specificaly what was the problem you occured and what had to be done to the ecu and rest of this magical electronic thingies to make it work? Here or on private message.
I've just bought 1.4i with missfire on 1st cylinder and although I hope it is like spark/fuel problem, I'd really love to get some more poke later on as I had driven and fsi a2 few years ago and that was not that bad in terms of acceleration.
Also I don't know if I missed this but someone asked about mpg you getting but you were before MOT so couldnt provide any info. How is it like driving sensibly within speed limit.
Greetings from Poland.

Thanks for the praise.

A basic BCB conversion could be run using your cars standard ECU without issues,

If you are going for the slightly more complicated version of the AUB head, and Polo GTI TB, inlet and exhaust manifolds then you would need the AUB ECU. You’d need to match the PIN code on the ECU to the one in your cars clocks. It can be done with VCDS.
