No chance the 6 speed will be in. I've also got a steering rack to source with the hope of hitting it all at the same time.
Perhaps find the leak on the AC and it seems very slightly short of power so maybe start with the fuel filter and work forward.

And as for the cooking, last year I was away early as well for the same reason.
I've no doubt the food would have been as good as the company.

  • We are in Scotland now. Just want to make people aware of Roadworks and a Contraflow on the Tay Bridge. It may not be advisable to take that route to the Scottish Meet !

TAY ROAD BRIDGE MAJOR WORKS

  1. News
  2. TAY ROAD BRIDGE MAJOR WORKS
The Tay Road Bridge will be closed in the early hours of Monday 12 June (0020 to 0500) to allow contractors to safely install a contraflow traffic management system on the southbound carriageway. When the bridge reopens at 0500, the northbound carriageway will be closed completely for major resurfacing and movement joint replacement. All traffic will be diverted onto the southbound carriageway, where both northbound and southbound traffic will use one lane each, travelling in opposite directions separated by marker posts in a contraflow arrangement. Plans showing the contraflow arrangement and the impact it will have on local access are shown below. Diversions will be sign posted. Station Brae in Newport-on-Tay will remain open for access north (Dundee) only.
No vehicles or loads over 2.6m wide will be able to use the crossing (this does not include wing mirrors).
If you are the driver of an agricultural vehicle, please phone the bridge for advice before crossing if you have any concerns.
If you breakdown on the bridge, please stay in your vehicle and await free rescue. We will have onsite breakdown recovery.

The works see the original 1966 surface completely removed down to the concrete bridge deck and waterproofing applied before a new asphalt surface is laid on top. In addition, 92 new expansion or movement joints will also be installed.
The shared path will remain open in both directions at most times but may be subject to some restrictions during certain work activities. Users can keep up to date with the works on the bridge’s twitter account @tay_road_bridge and via our website.

Works on Tay Bridge seem not to be causing particular delays - I've been over a few times in the past week without any more than 2-3 minutes delay. Hope that's not tempting fate!
I need to pass on the tempting prospect of the BBQ owing to a prior engagement, but would like to come along for the Saturday run. @ICowie if you could bring one of those spare jacking point covers, that would help me be slightly better-presented - thanks!

Yes that won't be a problem I'll throw them in the car before I set off.

Does anyone else need me to bring anything else along with me?

That`s good to know. We are keeping well away from the Tay Bridge, just in case. Our Daughter and Son in Law were ahead of us on the M6 on the way up here. They were at a standstill for 3 Hours with a 2 year old and 5 month old when the road was shut from J41 to J42 for a HGV Fire. We diverted via Great Salkeld, Langwathby then back on to M6 at J43 while they were still stuck !

Just to add to the local roads info, there is a lane closed in the last mile of the A90 before Dundee (Swallow Roundabout) - this is causing reasonable congestion over a number of miles when there is any traffic heading "north" (eastbound from Perth). Opportunity to bypass this by going through Strathmore (cross country to Forfar) before heading up towards Aberdeen

Hi George,

Are there any plans to stop for lunch someplace during the run out on the Saturday?

Perfect with being a type 1 diabetic I need to plan for these things and wanted to make sure there was plans to stop somewhere for lunch 👍

Hi Guys, for the Saturday BBQ we’ll only be catering for those who have booked. That’s not very many! If you let me know here before tomorrow noon I can still get you food. If not you there won’t be spare…
Dunbikin has booked directly with me so I have

If I’ve missed anyone let me know

@ICowie,

Will you be there on Friday and/or Sunday?
I’m barely going to have time to breathe on Saturday, so I’m looking for work that can be done on other days.

Cheers,

Tom
