Hi Mike,

Having just had mine custom re-mapped I'd be interested to know what other mods you've made to get that kind of figure!!?

Gwarn give is a hint!
The only other things that could amke a difference are the Milltek Sport exhaust and a K&N filter.

Cheers,

Mike

Tuning Petrol1.4 SEs

Hi as a new new member please excuse the obvious , what can I do to eek out some extra power from my Y plate se 1.4 petrol. Read the threads by skipton plus others but not sure whats available.
Pros love my A2 (2yrs Kayak carrier Sympony AC brilliant handling) sometimes hit 49 mpg
Cons no roll on in 5th , my ex works car was a A4 2.0 TDI and the mid gear acelleration was narcotic!

Any help for a newbee ?

Hello Steve,

if you are willing to spend some (big) spare money, take a look at a 1.4 turbo-conversion:

http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5679

Besides that, the classic way of petrol engine tuning will get you some additional HP:

- better breathing exhaust system
- improved air intake system
- lighter crank counterweight
- lighter conrods
- lighter pistons
- increased compression ratio (if non-turboed)
- different valves and valve springs
- hotter camshaft timings
- ...

In all cases the mpg-rate will suffer of course.

hi

you guys seem to know what you are talking about, I have a 1.6 FSI sport, can i tune it and if so where, i live in Taunton, Somerset, i have googled audi tuning but they all only seem to do Diesels

Also i was looking for a brake upgrade bigger disc the standard look lost in the 17inch wheels would i be able to fit say maybe A4 calpiers and disc, something not to expensive would be good

please Help

Colin

Hi Colin
Tuning firms don't seem to cater for non turbo petrol engines as it costs a fortune to obtain a worthwhile power increase. For small power gains, Superchips offer an 8 bhp increase for the FSI which costs £299 -see link to their web site http://www.superchips.co.uk/models.php

Cheers Spike
