Hello,
as told in former topics, I have on my A2 the removable towbar as an OEM solution (delivery with new car in november 2002). The max. load on the towing knob are 50 kg (not 75 as normally) an the max. load with brakes on the trailer are 1000 kg.
Some photos you can find under European Owner Gallery No. 24.

By law here in the Netherlands it is not allowed to tow anything as the A2 is not certified to do so.
The nr of the parts above are for a knob which is the same as a towing knob but differently attached it is for a kind of rack behind the car where you can put your pushbike on we here call it a fietsdrager.
So no hope in the Netherlands as the type of car is not certified *(typegoedkeuring )to tow anything

As far as I was told by my dealer, all A2´s after 8/2002 are certified for towing, and older models can have the permit put in the car´s papers afterwards if the towbar is fitted...

Bye, frido.
