Tyre suspension question?

I love the 6 spoke OEM 16 inch alloys on my SE but hate the ride sometimes and was wondering if my suspension at 145k needed replaceing?

However when i put on my OEM 6 spoke 15 inch winter wheels with 185 60 15 tyres the ride is transformed and my suspension feels fine!

Like my clutch which is still original is it that my suspension still doing its job or is the the extra squidge in my tyre walls that is deceiving me?

If your suspension is original it will certainly be tired by that mileage, but with such a light car and such awful roads round this way, the best suspension upgrade you can get is more squidge in the tyre walls.

The difference in comfort between 15 and 16 inch tires will be noticable also with new suspension.
But alao will be the difference if you renew the suspension.

Do the suspension first, then decide if you want to go for wheels. Suspension will make a big difference, may be better for you, maybe not. One change at a time, assess, then decide.
