Information What the TDI 75 looks like under the bonnet

For drive cleaning the easy way:
Take a bottle of neat washing up liquid.
Create puddles of washing up liquid on any stains you want to remove.
Here is the best bit....
LEAVE IT ALONE for a few days.
You can then hose or jetwash it off.

Works a treat.

Apparently coca cola is also very good as an oil remover. Remour has it that Coke use the neat ingredients of coke in their maintenance bays for de-greasing their trucks.

I fear if it comes down to that then, it'll be new replacement bricks, this is because the top side of the bricks are tapered as opposed to bottom side.

normaly with brick weave paving, they are the same both sides with tapered edges, curved on both sides ive layed various types and found them all like that , might be worth pulling one out to have a look see if the cleaning, preasure washer route fails.

That IS 'exactly' what I've been doing for years! however because of the major mess on the driveway now I thought there may be a easier way.

Very interesting, Sarge!

Thanks for posting these pictures. Out of interest, did you have any trouble undoing the nuts holding the EGR pipe to the exhaust manifold? I wanted to remove the pipe when I blanked my EGR, but I was worried about snapping a stud. :p

Regards,

Matt.

Matt, No I didn't really experience any issue with the bolts. The only one that snapped in the entire removal process was one of the big gearbox mount bolts that's all.

That'll be the phosphoric acid. Strong stuff!

Well Well, what a surprise! this engine block as well as the head inside is MINT! found the problem, a bloody simple fix! can you tell what it is?

Hi Sarge

I am impressed by your investigative prowess, I know that you are passing this world but once, any chance if your passing Glesga you could drop off that chain you removed, I think I may have a spare link.

May be an option for the air 2 if my heads gone .. what mileage was on that engine out of interest ... zippy

Hi Mate, the mileage is 110k, as you can see from the pictures the engine internally is excellent conditon, just needs a clean up externally, however being out the car that also gives you a chance to paint it whatever/however you want before fitting into your car, therefore taking best engine bay award? ...lol

Cheers
Sarge
