I bought flowers on Wednesday, without them being necessary. ?@damadgeruk Better buy a bunch of flowers as well.
MYP has a shorter throw gearchange which is nice, but still not as smooth as the gearchange on 1.4 and FSI.... drove my six speed TDi75 for the first time. It was only a couple of miles home so not the full experience, but the gears feel slightly different and it took a few minutes getting used to, but apart from that all seems fine. I now have the MYP conversion, so nice and straightforward with the benefit of a brand new LUK clutch, which wasn't actually needed, but seemed daft not to do at the same time, considering the original has done something like 178K.
Another fellow .:R32 owner albeit a Mk4Today I finished day 2 of cleaning/polishing my R32
(sorry it's not A2 content!)
Similar to my process but never tried the 303 might need to try that..@dodders That looks a lovely example, I do love the MK4 body
I'll put my process in a spoiler tag as it's quite lengthy. I plan to do a full correction on the paintwork a little later this year.
Bilt Hamber wheel cleaner
Bilt Hamber snow foam
Full 2 bucket wash, dry, followed by Bilt Hamber clay
Rinse & wash/dry
Auto Glym Super Resin Polish
Collinite 915
Meguiars Ceramic Hybrid Wax
Meguiars Endurance tyre gel
Aerospace 303 on all black trims, including the engine bay, after agitating with Meguiars APC
Auto Glym Fast Glass
Looking to start experimenting with some ceramic coating starting with wheels when I have them refurbished (my A2 wheels will also be receiving this treatment once done)
I am on R32OC (same user name) and I have a thread on the car but it's a bit quiet on there, not much of a community feel like on here
By the way, well done for putting a few coats on 915 on the car, after one coat my arm is dead from buffing!!
Male tennis players can also make funny noises...Replaced the starter motor on my 1.4 Petrol Sport, so now it doesn't make a noise like a lady tennis player at Wimbledon, and cause people to turn round to look. I'm impressed with the new refinement.
While the mechanic was at it, I asked him to knock himself out with the angle-grinder (as long as he didn't damage the mountings on the car), and set free the left-side back seat which has been jammed solid since before I had the car. (Quite a long time before, judging from the tide-line of grunge, and previous owner had obviously been desperate enough to crack the backrest release, so had probably taken a tyre iron to it). The seat's at the tip in quite a few pieces, and I'm free to move on.
I can only assume this is similar to the unit made by Graham, as fitted to the TDI120..? Photos please!...and fitted the highly modified EGR that I machined all the innards out of a few months ago.
