Having put a lot of effort into my FSI A2 this year (see Black Beauty) I don’t really want to damage it on the flooded, muddy, branch ridden country lanes on my commute to work.
Enter my el-cheapo TDI from @PaulA2.
Paul responded to my wanted advert for a cheap TDI. He’d recently picked up a cheap TDI that he wanted some spec form for his own car. Having removed this he did me a very generous deal at £400 for the car and it’s cost me £130 delivery. Does TDI A2 driving come cheaper ? It’s a 2005 TDI 75 Special Edition with 165k. No service history and a short MOT but the car looks to have been well maintained.
Some of you may remember the first attempt at a Dune A2 that I built in 2019 (I think).
I plan to do a very similar thing with this car except the front end will also be raised by about 40mm too.
So the plans are:
- 40mm suspension lift using Fabia springs
- 205/55/16 mud and snow tyres on a set of 5 spokes I have here
- 20mm wheel spacers
- front and rear skid plates
- arches painted Matt black
- 2 x Thule bike carriers for the kids bikes
