Ooh, thanks for sharing. I’m no chemist but I think on balance 20 year old oil is probably worth changing out. It’s interesting that only 1.1 ltrs came out, as I thought the AUA gearbox needs 1.9 ltr. It doesn’t look like it has taken on water to a significant degree which is goodDrain plug was not a problem, hopefully also input plug .
I was surprised in how good “look” the gearbox oil was. I expected to be completelly black. Though my car has only 109.000 km. Still, the difference is obvious.
1.1l was drained out.

Yep looks like a Porsche garage !!!That looks a neat, tidy and clean garage. Then I realised why: you are in not in the UK!
Misprint I assume, petrol in a TDI wont give you many miles?Today had to refuel and at last - after 4 years - getting a decent fuel consumption:

62.4 mpg / 4.6 L/100km over 617 miles / 45 litres. It's a remapped 1.4 75 TDi with longer 5th gear.
Over the pandemic the A2 was hardly used and then only for short journeys. Consumption is measured red line buzzer to red line buzzer. Using eyeball estimate I reckon on one long journey at c60 mph I was getting over 70mpg, but it was 16 years ago I last had 70mpg between fills.
The fuel over recent years has been mainly Texeco Supreme. Expensive, but better on the engine when doing mostly shorter journey.
Correct. This is my first diesel and I still say "I need to get more petrol". The spreadsheet is a hangover from my previous petrol car.Misprint I assume, petrol in a TDI wont give you many miles?
Your video clips have been very helpful to me as a new owner and I'm delighted you have your car back on the road. Now you can really enjoy it.Today my A2 passed Slovenian MOT with flying colours. Aftet 8 years of not being on the road, it will finally be able to do some miles …
I am quite excited…
What engine do you have?Today I've began looking into changing the timing belt and water pump, but the Gates kit is over £130 and the Bosch is £160+.
Does anyone know if is there a tad cheaper deal? Thanks

Yes I've had a look to no avil, dayco says not available at the moment. I'd get prefer Gates or Bosch to be fair, but can't find cheaper deal on them. Thanks for looking anyway.More up on the Diesels but have you searched the skf and dayco options?
I was thinking about eBay ones as well, but most are from abroad and rather get it from UK in case of extra changes, and easier to sort if there's an issue with the items as well. Thanks for looking anyway.Contitech are another OEM maker. Their kit is slightly cheaper, but you'd need to check that it ships free of import duty:
