Broken Spidan spring less than 2 years old.

And 8 months later the other side is broken half way up. Somewhat disappointed with these spidan springs after all the recommendations received on here. Anyway just updating the thread in case anyone ever searches for broken spidan springs.

Anyone else's battery flat after lockdown?

I can leave my spare motorcycle trickle charger on it no problem. Just surprised it went flat in just 4 weeks.

Anyone else's battery flat after lockdown?

I thought I better check as we haven't used the car for at least 4 weeks and sure enough dead as a dodo. Charging it with my motorcycle battery charger at the moment. When I first started charging it the alarm started to beep and only stoped once I put the key in the ignition and turned it...

Broken Spidan spring less than 2 years old.

Had the spring replaced today. £50 labour not bad. Now that the horrible rattle is gone I'm getting a clunk from the other side when the steering is turned. Had a quick look and all seems ok without taking the strut out...

Broken Spidan spring less than 2 years old.

Gonna be honest here this happened 2 weeks ago and I didn't have time to inspect until today. So the rust could have built up since then.

Broken Spidan spring less than 2 years old.

Wife hit a pothole with the front wheels on the nearside and the spring on the offside broke off at the bottom. Any idea why the spring on the side that didn't hit the pot hole would break? Quite disappointed that it broke after 2 years when it replaced the original sport suspension that was 15...

Stiff gears and crunching reverse - clutch gone ?

The gear changes are smooth again and no crunch in reverse... All I did was drench the selector tower with AC-90 (penetrating oil) then grease it. And 2 weeks after this the gear changes were fine again and have been since. Any ideas what the culprit might be?

    Oil leak

AFAIK gearbox needs to come out! That's why nobody bothers. A £10 part changing costing £300 labour not worth it

Stiff gears and crunching reverse - clutch gone ?

Thanks Paul, I already changed the oil 5k miles ago! So a Luk clutch kit is all I need or extra bits as well? Will start to get quotes and then decide if to bin the car or not ?

Stiff gears and crunching reverse - clutch gone ?

1.4 TDI 150k miles original clutch and not slipping! So far I have adjusted the linkage and greased the cables/mechanism, cleared out the gator/stick from debris and greased as well. this made 0 difference. Without the engine running all gears select fine, reverse is a bit difficult to...

Fuel filter cover repair - photos instructions needed.

The cover on our TDI fell off - happened mid journey so had no choice but to rip it off completely. Does anyone have pictures of their repair bodge ? only the middle screw hole is still useable on ours the other fixing points are broken off. Was thinking of using a big washer in the middle...
