1.6FSI cat convertors

Hi, I developed a strange rattling from under the car recently, then thought nothing more of it as it went away. Friday driving the car, and it then started sounding strange again, and acceleration started deteriorating on occassions.

Have suspicion that it is the cat convertor. Refrained from driving all weekend, but on way to work this morning started to sound like a tank, the acceleration and pull really compromised.

Called audi and booked in for a diagnostic on friday, but if I carry on driving to and from work, is this going to damage/effect my little A2 long term?

Also no engine management light has come on?!?

Replacement Cat

How did you get on?

Did you have to replace the Cat? in which case how much was it? I think I will need to replace mine so open to some sugestions

Hey yes, it was the 2nd Cat that had gone, not sure how much it costs as mine was replaced under warranty. I think the other one is on its way. Sorry couldn't be of any more help.

If you do a search on here, others have listed prices but unsure of how current those are.
