I have already participated in one or two posts. The information available in this forum is pure gold, but I have not posted an introduction.
For whatever reason I have always had a hankering for an A2, having crawled around one in 2000, so when it came to buying a small run around there was my chance.
I have bought many cars from auction over the years trusting my own judgement rather than in the general motor trade. (easy to come unstuck though)
So far I am extremely pleased with the condition of the car even though it exhibits some of the known problems that afflict A2s such as
Door straps
Hinge cracks
Resonating noise at around 2000rpm
After market radio, signal weakness (fixed with a £3 adaptor)
I have spent most evenings devouring the contents of the forum. Would it have put me off buying one if I had read the forum before purchase?
I don't think so but it takes time to find the resolution to many of the problems.
Keep up the excellent work and I hope to contribute in due course.
