Hi folks
Long time lurker but thought I’d share my beloved 2000 A2 1.4 SE in Jaipur that I bought from a family member 4 years ago …

Frustrating at times , but it’s been an amazing companion over the years and now just ticked over 140k ..

Usual fixes inc Cambelt, Alternator, EGR valve, battery , brakes and suspension refresh should see me to 200k with luck, though currently off the road until I find a solution to the CCM and associated battery drain !
Has been replaced (I’m sure I heard it sulking !) as my daily as a consequence but I really can’t bare to part with it .. Too good to scrap - so roll on project 2023 !

A few gratuitous photos - clean , and ‘used’ ..
Hope to meet fellow A2ers / I see there is a healthy Bucks / Herts contingent !

Looking great,

Who doesn’t love a Jaipur Red A2. Cannot wait to read more about this one. Please do add more pictures when able to do so. Quite interested tk see the interior ti give me inspiration on how to present the interior of my new purchase.

You power drain issue certainly sounds to be CCCU related but it’s always best to have someone perform a scan with VCDS to eliminate anything else. There is a free scan register on these pages which should reveal who you most local member is. Im sure someone will be along to assist to provide assistance.

Fortunately the CCCU is quite easy to swap if it’s confirmed to be the cause, plenty of information already available on the Clubs pages to talk you through the process.

Welcome to a phenomenal Club by the way.

Kind regards,

Tom

Welcome aboard.
The greatest living A2 electrical specialist comes down to Leighton Buzzard once a year. He is @timmus. No doubt there will be more words of wisdom heading your way soon.
Looking forward to hearing more news of your car.

Christmas Greetings
Simon

Just a thought, have you actually done your cambelt, suspension and so on? Or is that list of things that are on the waiting list? Top workshop for A2's nearest to you is B&F Autos in West Hounslow. They really do know their stuff and do not charge silly money

Hi 👋, yep was just a list off the top of my mind that I’ve spent money on over the past couple of years - I’m sure there’s more but I’m trying not to add it all up !! Thanks for the tip , much appreciated
