75HP & 90HP Gearing

Just bought a A2 tdi 90hp in really nice condition on Friday. During the test drive I noticed the gearing seemed to be longer legged than my previous A2 75hp version I owned back in 2003. Is this me or has the gearing or final drive ration been changed on the 90hp version?
 
Absolutely. The 5th gear in the 90 is slightly longer than in the 75 -the 5th gear cog pair is different.

Its always difficult to remember what something was like 5-6 years ago, but I thought I could detect a change. Thanks for the info and the link. I look forward to collecting the car next week. :)
