this morning my 1.6 fsi started to misfire. engine light is flashing randomly, although it goes out over 3000rpm.

i have a feeling this issue could be a result of the wife filling up with regular unleaded at jet on sunday?

has anyone suffered similar symptoms as a consequence of bad fuel, or am i barking up the wrong tree?

cheers.

Get it scanned to see what faults are recorded

Could be one of a number of things :)

haven't got vagcom. as the engine light is only on some of the time and the misfire corrects itself with high revs i'd hoped that it wouldn't be anything too major.

Your not giving much away Buddy, where do you live? maybe there a club member near you with Vag Com

please view 'My Location' buddy. but yes good thinking, if anyone is in the local who can help me, i would be V. grateful.

thank you

You could try volksentre in Blyth (hard to find unless you know where they are!) - they will normally do a VAGCOM scan and are not too far from you. They are an independant VAG specialist and have done some bits for me in the past - been very good.
