A2 1.2 TDI - gear selector leaking oil

Hi,

My A2 suddenly started leaking hydraulic oil through gear selector seal (085 198 409).

I googled couple of days and looks like that seal is no longer available anywhere.
I found whole selector from proxyparts, but it was broken (service said is doesn't talk
with controller).

Are there any seals left in a stash somewhere? Or could you have the gasket made somewhere?

I'll try to build one intact from two broken ones. I'm still looking for o-rings for potentiometers.

This guy in Denmark sells both inner and outer seal kits for the gear selector robot.

50 EUR for both is quite reasonable.

Have renovated my own with these kits.

085 198 409 is the correct number.

Before renewing the gasket, make sure that both mating surfaces are flat. If not, resurface with fine wet & dry and a small piece of glass. This means dismantling the rocker, which is on a spline. On re-assembly, make sure that the rocker does not touch the casting when moved from one end to the other - that is the correct position. Otherwise the actuator won't work.
