Hi all as some of you may not have seen the latest post from A2cars with the details of their open day.
A2 CARS OPEN DAY 23RD MAY 15 - 8AM TO LATE !
Hi Guys & Gals.
Further to our original posting, I can now confirm that A2 Cars open day will be held on Saturday 23rd of May 2015. A big thank you to all for your patience and to Yvonne and Mike for fielding the many enquiries whilst we were getting our ducks in a row – something that took a little longer than originally anticipated. We still have lots to do but are really looking forward to welcoming our supporters to A2 Cars Milton Keynes.
Our open day will be an all day event and A2OC members are invited to attend and partake in the activities that we have planned. A2 Cars will be catering with light snacks, finger foods and soft drinks during the day.
In keeping with the technical theme, and as an added extra, we have made arrangements with one of our technical partners for our guests to have the performance of their vehicles checked on a dynamometer with performance print-outs given to owners. This is a cost option and is carried out off-site, less than two miles from our workshops. Slots are limited and interested members can secure a booking with a small deposit taken by A2 Cars, PM us for details & reservations. The dyno testing cost is £40.00 and runs will take place between 09H00 and 12H00 – thereafter its bragging time! A2 Cars will contribute £5.00 toward each run and there will be an additional £5.00 discount should there be more than ten members taking up this rare opportunity – so get in there! Martin’s dyno is very modern, annually calibrated and offers club member’s accurate verification of the output of their vehicle. Participants in the dyno test will be entered into a raffle with the lucky owner winning an A2 Cars Limited Sport Jacket – now THAT’S incentive!
A quick reminder of the activities for guests to partake in;
- a TDi will be raised on one lift for visitors to have a good look from below at how the cars look and identify and inspect components that are normally hidden from view.
- an A2 shell stripped of its interior which will allow visitors to see the, still to this day, advanced construction and assembly methods of the Audi A2.
- an engine on a display stand where the various components and ancillaries can be inspected.
- some of our special tools and diagnostic equipment will be displayed.
- a demonstration of our digital imaging equipment that we use to fault find and diagnose. We will "poke" into an engine and visitors will see an engine looks like "from inside".
- our second lift will be used to allow members to view their own vehicles. Our Team will carry out free safety inspections and advise on any areas that require attention. Unfortunately we will not be able to undertake any repairs on the day (safety issues excluded).
- diagnostic scans will be performed for members who request one at no charge and the results explained.
- there will be a quiz competition with a respectable prize for the winner.

We are very excited with the prospect of welcoming friends old and new to our modest workshop. We are hoping for a pleasant day filled with A2’ness. Roll on the 23rd !
