A2 Frankenstein

Did lots of research on suspension setups having raced in CSCC with olde skool cars. Checked all the Schnelltrekker threads here and on German forums. In the end went with Bilstein B6 rear, B8 front and German KAW springs. Thouroughly recommend you replace the bushes, drop links and all new bolts and nuts as well. The Console bushes on mine upgraded to Seat Cupra spec along with H&R ARBs.

The handling is brilliant even with winter tyres. With summer Yokohamas the grip is almost as good as race car.

A rally driver friend and instructor on much faster machinery from 911 GT3s to Ferraris had a ride and was mightily impressed with the way the A2 sits on the road.
 
Wow thanks for the info . That's my next question what bushes fit and can you get poly bushes for the a2 , if I got a full power flex kit for an Ibiza ,or is it Leon

About time you actually drove it and stopped pulling other A2's apart :) Only joking, enjoy the drive it's been a long time coming

After some thinking of whether to fix the oss roof myself or pay over 600+ to get it fixed I decided to face the task of do it yourself seen as Iv done everything else. So people how hard can it be ? If repairing an oss seems a bit of a mission. to change the cables that retract to dual panes of glass looks like a long winded process however if you find a fully working oss and are prepared to take one off and slide it into a a2 boot like me I guess you save a lot of money all in all a oss cost me £70 which was stacked two cars high

How much?? , yep fully working tried and tested it with power and manual , and also this breaker I sourced the parts of has another oss but it's has a car on top of it doesn't look damaged
