Hello folks,

I've finally got around to getting some photos of my new car which I took quickly on my phone this morning. I spent most of yesterday (Sunday) cleaning, waxing and putting some life back into the black exterior using Autoglyn. It looks very clean and shiny today although not the best scenery I'm afraid, and please excuse the private number plates they will be changed soon.

Phil

Thanks fellas,
I admit the car is looking nice today after pampered so much yesterday. I blistered my finger from the cleaning all the small places! It's not without a few faults though. Unfortunately, the wheels have been resprayed by a specialist company and with any paint it's chipped in a few places. I think my step-dad paid over £250 to have them done! Personally, I think I would have bought new ones and may go down that road one day. Also, at some point the bonnet has been dropped on the top edge which has chipped the paint and dinged it slightly so that needs doing.
I picked up and changed the dip stick last week after noticing the plastic end had snapped off which looks a common fault! One thing I did notice when changing is the oil looks very black. I'm not sure if this is usual with diesel as this is my first I'm still learning, but it probably needs changing.
Another thing I've noticed is the overall paintwork isn't great. Is that due to bodywork material in any way or paint isn't particularly tough for UK weather?

Audi paint is one on the hardest on the market so it may just need a machine polish to bring it back to life. Also, diesel engine oil goes black almost instantly after an oil change so may not be indicitive of needing an oil change.

Thanks for that Steve. I'll have a look into paint polishing although for now it's low down on the list of things to do, but still good to know. cheers
