A2oc end of year curry/italian evening

Hi all after speaking to the restaurant tonight i am having to close the booking now. i had originally booked 30 but i have managed to book a further 10 seats tonight. Im overwhelmed by the response to this end of year meal and so pleased that so many want to attend. Many thanks mike and vonnie

40!!!!!!????

That's potentially the biggest social turnout for the club ever! Excellent news.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen only a few days to go before our "end of year meal" The tables are booked for 7.00pm but i guess us early birds will be getting there early 6.00pm so we can have a chat and ogle the cars.
This year has a new feature that will take place before going into the restaurant ...... we have decided to have some "members awards" These awards are a new idea that in future years will be open to nominations and votes from the general forum users.
There are 4 awards and they are :-
Technical award
Newcomer award
Member of the year award
Dick Chown award----this award is Extra special as it honours a past member "Hollyrescue" Richard was a regular at A2oc socials and had a wonderful way of posting on the forum that made him a firm favourite. Richard battled cancer for 12 years with a constant positive attitude that was fantastic to see but passed away on 29-03-2007. His son-Peter now has his A2 and still loves driving it and even pops on here occasionally. Some of you may have seen him at A2 cars open day earlier this year. Peter is a quiet person but will probably be embarrassed by this but is a past "Mr universe" and that was something his father enjoyed telling all.

The results will be posted on the forum once they have been handed out. For those that are not attending the meal. So I'm looking forward to seeing you on saturday
in Birmingham drive safe. cheers mike and Vonnie

Like the Dick Chown award. We did meet Peter at A2cars day back in May. Its great that Peter is keeping his dads car on the road.

Hi everyone. Thanks so much for having the Dick Chown award, he would of loved it and my mum was chuffed to bits as am I! I'm so sorry I can't make the social but I am planning on attending a few next year, as mentioned I was at the A2 cars meet a few months ago with my dads A2 and it was good to meet some of you. I used to attend some with my dad as I shared the passion with him, I love these cars. I am pretty quiet as Mike said but once you get me talking I don't shut up sometimes.
I usually have a look through the forum most days, I'm not a big poster, never have been on forums but a,ways looking in!
Anyway, thank you again, it means a real lot :).

Really enjoyed the evening and it was fantastic meeting some of you, wish I had more time to get to speak with more of you but I'll definitely try attend the next social, with wife and baby this time :)
Thanks to those who organised this and to all of you who came.
