Most improved performance since last season I think - I'm starting to get the hang of this malarkey now!
We watched the race live in Whitby and it was simply unbelievable - there will be theories about Timo Glock for ever and a day now - it's a pity that McClaren went and played it safe, as I'm sure that Lewis could have pressed for 3rd place or even second if he'd got his finger out early on.
I hope that he sticks to his word and does it in style next year, so that the rumours are quashed before they begin. In reality, when you consider that the team was heavily penalised in the closed season for the alleged espionage on Ferarri, all the stewards penalties imposed on the drivers as well, they've done pretty damned good and would have won outright about 3 races ago!
Mind you, Bernie would have had less of a viewing audience then!
Next year is shaping up to be a classic, with the return to slicks, heavily simplified aero packages and the introduction of the kinetic energy recovery system (will be common on road cars by 2015) to name but 3. Then there's the resurgence of Renault, the unfettered development by McClaren and Honda (apparently, they've been developing the 2009 car since 2007!!) and the possibility of another Senna returning to F1 (Bruno, Ayrtons nephew) and you have one great looking season to look forward to.
Roll on next year and well done Wooly for organising another great compo!
Cheers,
Mike
