I've had an attempt at such a thing last year, before the new "curly - true A5" type led strips were available on the market, and i went for a simple linear strip, fitted with high intensity white light leds.
They're neatly tucked away in the headlight, and they have a stock look, so i'm satisfied.
Below are a few telephone taken pics, but i'll try to post newer ones, as i've just had my headlights smoked last night.
