i purchased my A2 1.4 petrol this week, after driving it for about 100 miles the ABS warning has come up on the driver info screen ? after pulling over and turning the engine off then restarting it goes, this has now happened twice.is it a big job to fix ?

Hi and welcome to the A2oc and A2 ownership.

The best way to find out what's going on is to get a scan done with vcds/

It's likely you will need the diagnostic scan but its worth checking the rear brake lights are working first as a blown bulb or faulty brake light switch can cause ABS lamp problems.

i will get in touch with the guy i got it off,he said he would have it scanned an reckons it might be an abs wheel sensor faulty ?

If the scan indicated a front wheel sensor issue, it may be an idea to check the sensor lead for damage. These have been known to be worn through contact with wider tyres. If its the sensor, use some penetrating fluid and leave to soak before attempting removal as these tend to sieze in their housings.
