All a2 owners, important safety note please!

Hi All, this might be obvious for some, but I have now seen this twice in three weeks!

You should NOT remove the foam located in the boot behind the battery! this is there for safety, in case of a rear shunt, this will absorb the impact and protect the battery to stop it being damaged by splitting or shorting type of damage. If this is removed then you could cause more damage, than the shunt could have caused in the first place.

Please check your A2's boot and if the foam has been removed (maybe by the previous owner) then get a replacement and fit it asap.

Cheers

well said Sarge, and just to clarify, this is the foam block that runs across the rear and houses the tool kit.
on vehicles with Bose, this is eliminated and the crash absorption is done by the sound box itself.

blue skies (really)
