Has anyone tried to get the newer audi keyfob working on the A2?
I bought one of ebay, but on dutch forum they already said that it wouldn't work because first i have an american keyfob with different mhz.
Second the blade is shorter (this can be solved) I thought of bulding my component in the new key, but it seems mine is square and the new banana shaped.

Seeing there are a lot of people specialised in the A2 here, i thought maybe someone tried also?

No they don't work, i was looking at the new ones as i work with new Audi's i thought i would like one of these but did a search of the site and a BIG FAT NO sorry

Cheers Phil

you *could* - but only by exporting the immobiliser from the old key and transplanting into the new one. It has been done, but it's not easy.

Immobilizer is no problem, blade also not. It al about the rest. The buttons to open close doors.
I am going to have a look at it. I neet to buy a t5 torx first though:)

whats the point????

 Sorry Chandler, I just dont understand why you would go to all this effort for a key? Have the original ones spent their life in a plasterers tool box - or would you just prefer a shiny new key for your pride and joy? Seems a lot of work - if you have the skills however, go for it! I must say that your time and money maybe better employed elsewhere on the A2 - but its only my opinion and hey! - what do I know!!! :D

I have one waiting for when I have time / effort available....

:)

and the answer to why is frequently "because I can", no? ;)

I actually thouhgt, that it would be farely simple. That's why i began. The key of a car is the element which you always carry. It advertises your car even when not with you. The new keybob is much more sophisticated. So i thought i give it a try. If it is too much i won't doe it, but i have to see the inside first.
