Hi!
In the next lines I will tell you the story of a romanian family that now just bought an Audi A2 1.2TDI 3L after having in the past another A2 1.4TDI - AMF (75HP).
I am 23 years old, the only child and the youngest member also. ? We had in the past a few other VAG Cars, like I grew up with a 2002 MK4 Golf - 1.9TDI ALH that my parents bought back in 2007. We had it for 13 years and I can surely say that it was the most reliable car we've ever had. The reason that made us sell it was the rust on the front sills and wings.
I've learned to drive on a Lupo 1.0MPI, short after we bought the 1.4TDI Lupo that I have mentioned above. After selling the Lupo my parents bought an A2 1.4TDI- main reason for going this way was the full aluminum body - Audi Space Frame that this car has. In Romania we have very salty roads durring winter and this is why our firs Mk4 had problems with rust after 13 years here.
We wanted a Lupo 3L or an A2 1.2TDI ever since we fall in love with these small city cars. Last month we had the chance to do an exchange with our 1.4TDI A2 - for the new (to us) 1.2TDI A2.
The car was recently imported from Netherlands. I am curious if the old owner / s is here on the forum. Car was registered with this plate: (NL) 4-KJG-91 .
It is a 2004 model year with projectors and heated seats as main options. It is equipped with A / C and Power Assisted Steering. The dash shows ~ 275,000km. They seem right according to CarVertical and Kenteken Check. It has very clean interior and buttons (common problem with fade buttons on climatronic panel and window switches in A2s).
In my opinion in few more years this cars will become a classic, they were produced in a limited amount and have been over-engineered, so ahead of their time.
Although it is not my car, my mom will drive it the most, I will love to give it a go every time I came home.
We plan to keep this car for a long time in our family, and enjoy that low cost of driving.
