Hi Justin
Thanks yes no worries I know you guys like the details; On the Saturday morning my wife started up the car and according to her a number of warning lights came on including the engine management light and the car had lost power and it was as much as she could do to re park it . Some hours later, with the car switched off for say 3 hours, I re started the car and there were no warning lights every thing was okay. I thought don't drive it as it was the weekend and my car mechanic is only open Monday to Friday. So I did not drive it I just switched it off. Then I drove the car to the mechanic on Monday with no problems the car was absolutely fine. The actual mechanic I see who is the head mechanic at the garage only works Wednesday Thursday Friday. So a much more junior mechanic said he had cleared all the fault codes done a service on it changing oil coolant air filter and he had changed the belt on the alternator. Also he had done a 6 mile test drive with no problem. I paid them got in the car started it up no warning lights came on, drove 50 yards it totally lost power just as I was about to accelerate onto a road. Loads of warning lights came up on the dash engine management a big round red circle with a slash through it plus an abs light. I turned it round it seemed to have lost power and drove it the 50 yards back to the garage. I left it running so the junior mechanic could plug in the diagnostics. He got a code which said next to it throttle body. I left the car at the garage and today I got a call from one of the head mechanic's assistants. The assistant who is not mechanically minded gave me the part number after they were unable to source a new part 036133062D. They said the head mechanic recommended a getting new throttle body or throttle valve both have the same part number 036133062D but the assistant said I could get a second hand one if nothing else was available. No new 036133062D is available from my normal sources I've found. I use AutoDoc and some others they have various makes of the 036133062D on there but none available. The only new one I found was on Amazon.
I read through a post from 2017 titled
''One for Timmus - FSI Throttle Body''
where ajsellors said this;
''the TB used in the A2 1.6 FSI is part number 036133062D which is used in the same fitment 1.6 FSI BAD engine in the contemporary VW Golf / Bora and also used in the Lupo 1.4 FSI ARR engine.
The later A3 1.6 FSI engine uses a different part number, 06A133062AT, (in your eBay link) for the TB which in itself indicates that it isn't exactly compatible in some way.
Whether the operation is the same but it is "adaptable" is another matter. If for example the cooling pipe fittings are in a different place so given different hoses it would otherwise work, you would only find out by trying.''
I search for Throttle bodies from VW Golf / Bora the Lupo 1.4 FSI ARR engine but that is not so easy because although they have the 036133062 part number they mostly have a different letter at the end and i don't know what that letter means
