Audi A2 - VCDS coding tutorials

I really like to tinker with my cars so I have decided to do a few videos how you can adapt your car to your wishes or upgrade it with just diagnostic tools. So basically ''free'' :). Of course you first need a diagnostic tool, I can only recommend VCDS (https://www.ross-tech.com/, list of distributors: https://www.ross-tech.com/distributors.php), which I am using, because it is reliable and easy to use, but also other diagnostic tools should work.
I did this videos in ''for dummies'' format so basically any person without any previous knowledge of diagnostic tools can do the coding, but of course you need to understand that I do not take any responsibility for your actions, only you are responsible for them.
IF YOU ARE NOT 100% SURE WHAT TO DO, DO NOT DO IT.

Here is a YouTube playlist:

And here are also some videos already uploaded. I will add new in the future as I have time to film and edit also some other interesting coding options.

Audi A2 - consumption display activation on cars with small DIS

Audi A2 - remote control pairing:

Audi A2 - automatic locking when driving - anti hijack locking

Nice videos, but to avoid confusion the last one is anti hijack locking. The car will autolock if unlocked by the remote and a door is not opened within a short period of time. The car autolocks as it assumes the unlocking was accidental to re secure the car.

Thank you for your input, you are right.
I have change the video description and thumbnail.

Audi A2 - activation of sound confirmation when locking the car (technically it is a confirmation from alarm system that it is armed). Together with playing with blink locking confirmation.

Is it possible to code comfort indicator? If so, would be appreciated with a tutorial of that
Sadly no, it is to old platform. Though it would be a great addon.
Here is a tutorial for retrofit:
Huh, looking at this thread, I will definitelly go for this retrofit, if I find some spare time.

Selective central locking (SCL) activation
I do hate this function and I do not need it, but it can be really usefull in places with high crime rate.

Morning,

Another great tutorial @mtl. I’ve seen this option before within the Instrument Adaptation channels but never selected it until now. Thank you for the information on how to correct what is displayed.

The average consumption on Project EUD is way off and requires adjustment. You’ve provided exactly what I need to rectify my issue.

Thank you for your time putting this tutorial together and keep the YouTube clips coming; all very useful.

Kind regards,

Tom

Perfect, I am glad it helped. That is also the purpose and motivation for these videos, because they do consume a lot of time to film and edit.

Great effort by you yet again, Could you do one to program a new key fob to the CCCU as I am still with a broken fob, I have a new fob that needs programming.
Thanks & regards,
Ami

Thanks for pointing me in the correct direction, now the question is does the VCDS need to be a licensed version to enable to do this or the down loaded version can also do this,
Cheers

If you only use VCDS on A2s, or other VAG cars upto 2006 model year, then buying a registration for Lite, at $98, (£75 ish), is a good excellent idea.
If you think you'll want to use it on later VAG vehicles, buying the full version is worth thinking about. There are alternatives, and the original Android only, version of OBD Eleven is also worth consideration.
OBD Eleven is good for newer vehicles but adaptations abs Basic Settings on early models, is not so convenient. This is because it's main focus is on late vehicles. VCDS Lite was written back in the late nineties, early noughties, when it was called VAGCOM. Development stopped around 2005/2006, and support in 2012.
I have VCDS Lite, and Android OBD Eleven, and although OBD Eleven is convenient, (no cable it's Bluetooth), VCDS Lite is what I use most of the time.
The most important thing, (regardless of which tool you choose), is to become familiar with Measuring Blocks, and Groups, what the contents of each block can tell you.
Mac.

Thank you Mac for all the information, you are correct I should get the licensed version, I have a very expensive snap on verdict but buying/using VCDS make more scene as I mainly do A2 now.
Many thanks again
