Thanks Paul

1 and 2 would be great

Hi Paul - If you've got any of the steel brackets (Item 1) still available, can I put my name down for one please? Just the bracket. I'd also like to have one of your modified EGR's so it may be best to PM me and I'll sort out payment. Thanks, Matt

Hi Paul,
Any update on the state of play with the brackets? I'm keen to install the arm rest in the next couple of weeks ideally, got a couple of long trips coming up, happy to take just the brackets and the plastics later if that makes any difference. cheers nod.

Sorry mate just been mad busy. I have some brackets done and unpainted plastics ready so can box up and ship tomorrow
I’m not at home at the moment so can see if you wanted painted and ex printer plastics
But assuming you can finish the plastics yourself I can ship to you tomorrow

Cheers. Paul

Hi Paul No worries, unfinished plastics is what I wanted, so that would be great, thanks. Will PM you address and send payment this avo. cheers

Got mine in the post a couple of days ago and fitted up today. A bit fiddly, but straightforward enough and very rigid. Will sort the plastics in due course, but very happy how it turned out and will make a big difference for the trip down to Leeds and back next week. Thanks!

Nice! Did you take any pics of the fitting process that you can share please? I have the parts ready to fit, so would be very handy to know! Also, will it be relatively easy to install the plastics once they are finished? Cheers

Sorry I didnt manage to take any as I went along. In terms of fitting it is relatively straightforward. Remove the side trims below the gear stick, remove the bolts for the trim around the handbrake and lift up enough to get the bracket under. Drilling through to mount the two rear bolts was a bit of a faff and a long series drill would have helped. Bolt everything down and refit the trims.

Fitting the plastics looks pretty easy with the bracket in place. You can unbolt the actual arm rest once it is mounted in 2 seconds, then the plastics just go over the bracket. I think?!?

Cheers - I’ll try to take pics when I eventually get round to the fitting. Yours looks great!

I seem to be stuck trying to secure the rear bolts . Did you have to cut threaded holes, and if not, how did you get a screw or bolt under the new holes in the chassis? I fear the lower console has to come out, which presumably means all the trim around the gear lever too..

Lower console just needs to be loosened and lifted enough to get the bracket under
The nuts are retained in a spanner with a little bluetak and inserted from the side and the screws tightened from the top
Ensure you mount the armrest to the bracket and ensure it is square and parallel to the centre line of the car before drill img the two mounting holes

Thanks Paul, inspired technique, but worth it in the end! Couldn’t have done this without your fine efforts

Wish I had thought of Blu-Tack!!

I used a set of long thin pliers to hold the bottom nut in place.
I did have to grind off the bottom of the weld where it sits on the chassis to make it flush though. Unless that is there intentionally. I didn't ask.!!!

Oops apologies it was meant to be ground off flush. I must have missed one

Its not a problem. I was more concerned with it no longer being structurally as strong if it was meant to be like that!
