as the two heavy-duty fuses underneath the safety cover are unaffected it appears to simply be a bit of surface corrosion visible on the contact in the first image, unless I am completely misreading the image.

Agree signs of corrosion. Is the plastic a bit ‘melted’ by the left bolt? Maybe it got hot at some point due to the corrosion. You could clean it up and make sure that bolt is properly tight. I’ll have a look at mine tomorrow

Looks more likely the auxiliary positive supply connection was loose and was over heating due to arcing. This arcing produced enough heat to burn a hole in the positive terminal protective cover plate. Lucky the battery was not venting as that could have caused a fire or even explosion of the battery. Another possibility was that someone used a very high power jump box to boost the battery or jump start the car and that caused the over heating.

The nut was a bit loose, and there is a small melted hole in the protection cover. So arcing around this nut is most likely.
I guess I should change the part between the connection, and the two 150A fuses.

I'd replace the complete high current fuse carrier, and the cap. I'm sure one of the usual suspects, (@Clackers @A2Steve or @Ami ), will be able to help.
How did you notice the problem, did something go wrong, or do you just notice it?
Have you had the car long?
Mac.

Agree replace the parts, although not sure if our breakers could supply the replacement parts to Norway. May have to source the parts from Europe yourself ( Germany, Latvia etc ).

Wish the Country flag was visible on the phone.

I will try to find replacement parts, but could anyone help me with the numbers? For some reason, I have no access to Audi7zap anymore.Bad gateway..

And If someone, is planning to inspect this area on their own A2, please drop us a pic.
I noticed the problem this way; Suddenly no electricity at all, one morning.
Had the car since new.One battery replacement approx 8 years ago.

I gave the connection a good cleaning and some liquid copper inside the nut.
This area could be a good idea to inspect for eveyone. Nut torque and signs of
corrosion hidden underneat it.
