Battery drain issue - factory sat nav fuse removed but now radio issues

I've had an issue for the last week of the battery being drained whilst the car is parked. Replaced the battery as the old one was beyond saving and within a day it was flat again and the car hadn't been used . Today, I've managed to diagnose that the source of the current drain was from the factory sat nav unit in the boot. I removed the fuse (no.37) and bingo the battery is fine. Was feeling quite pleased with myself however another issue has arisen. With that fuse removed it keeps displaying on the DIS - phone and then the radio station. It therefore doesn't allow the radio to work . I have a RNSE unit and factory bluetooth module which have been fitted for over a year now with no issues. I have tried disconnecting the bluetooth module but it has made no difference. The radio circuit is fuse no.2 so shouldn't be affected by the fuse that I have removed. With the RNSE unit switched off it randomly still plays music for a second or so and then cuts off again and displays phone on the DIS. Replacing the fuse and everything works fine but it starts to drain the battery quickly when car is not running. Can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks.

Replace the fuse but try removing the cradle and unplug the connections on the back of the boot-mounted navigation DVD? An RNSE shouldn't be trying to make any use of it as it has its own internal navigation DVD. I wonder if there's some special aspect of wiring for an RNSE installation in a car with the original factory sat-nav, that wasn't followed.

Yes, I've tried leaving the fuse in and disconnecting the various plugs on the unit itself in the boot but the same issue still exists. I fitted the rnse unit myself and it's worked perfectly , voice commands and directions displayed on the DIS. The original nav was still active and would work fine as well with no interference through the RNSE.

Quick update. It would appear there was some dampness in the plugs going into the sat nav unit. Plugs dried and cleaned up, fuse reinstalled for sat nav and everything back working as it should with no power drain. Will keep an eye in case there's any water ingress but no signs anywhere else of water/dampness.
