Battery light flickering

Well, the results are in and whilst the data doesn't exactly make for dramatic evidence it is clearly enough. I'd post the raw data, but those attachments are not permitted, so a couple of screen grabs of the voltage/time chart will have to do. The Before chart is a much longer journey, and aside from a few stops shows the voltage as being rather erratic but much of the time hanging around the 14.1 area, dipping into 13.9 etc. The After shows it much more reliably around 14.5, not a massive difference but clearly enough to prevent the battery light flickering. I'm assuming the trigger voltage for that is <14v.

So the important lesson here is that a flicking battery light doesn't automatically mean £100s spent on a new alternator.
