Chris and I met in Chippenham car park for Chris to handover the bonnet. Chris is a very pleasant guy and we enjoyed a chat over coffee, both about A2s and IT.
Whilst we were having a natter about our A2s we were approached by a little elderly lady, probably in her 80s, who said: "I've never seen 2 A2s of the same colour as mine at the same time". Turned out she also had a Crystal Blue A2, having bought it new in 2002. I think she said her A2 had done about 90k. When her husband died her children said she should have a smaller car rather than drive her husbands big car, so they recommended the A2. She thought it was a very good choice and had had reliable motoring since.
I'm going to write a bit for the Wiltshire Times to see if we can get some publicity. At the moment the paper is supporting the creation of a new Air Ambulance base at Semmington, south of Melksham.
I plan to photograph my A2 with the bonnet in the next few days. Who can next take it on its journey? Sounds like it needs to work it's way down to the south west.
