I'm visiting this "Interior" section of the forum too often

Had boot light out today..... swapped bulb...... still dint work:(,

No 12V there !!!!!

HELP !!!! Does this mean ..... someone has had probs with alarm and linked it out.....maybe ?????

The positive feed is common to all the interior lights, so if the others are working, then either someone's made some alterations, or, the central convenience unit is at fault, as it's this that switches the earth in and out to activate the light.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi SPECKY
Are you saying there was no 12v at the bulb just because it did not light up or did you check the contacts with a meter.
If as Bret indicated, the boot lock microswitch is faulty (which is quite common) the bulb won't light and the alarm will sound (it takes a few seconds to activate) if you open the boot first after the car has been locked.
The fix is to replace the whole tailgate lock assy
