Brake Shoe Replacement

Come across this old thread and spike mentions a pic of the adjusters for rear drum brakes...and it's not here (it's an old thread).

Anyone got something handy they can post up? My a2 has rear disc brakes but I've a mate with a tdi75 who needs the handbrake adjusted and I said I'd help!

Scott, this photo is from the Polo forum though shows the adjuster. Guessing you know to push it upwards through a stud hole.
Edit: can't attach at the moment, sent via WhatsApp (will add later if necessary).

rear brake shoes are never an easy job, and very messy.
ive just read through this thread and there is some advice that is really, well, erm, plain rubbish!
NEVER take a hammer to a brake drum, its the certain method to distort it irrespective of how solid it looks.
NEVER NEVER grind the "lip". if you are unsure of the drum's servicability, measure its internal diameter againt spec and either machine or replace.
easiest way to remove drum is to release the auto adjustment wedges. when re-fitting, ensure the teflon pads are in place and dab them with copper grease.
oh, and good practice is to do one side at a time in case you need to refer to the other, or take a picture!

I've started the same task and am about to offer up the new pre assembled shoes from the Pagid kit.
How do I thread the handbrake cable back onto the new lever ?

The adjuster in the cabin is backed off completely but I am struggling with pulling the spring back to enable the cable to be threaded into place !!!

Best to split the assembled shoes into two. Move the handbrake arm and connect the cable, then rebuild the shoes into one assembly. Fitting the shoes prebuilt is only really possible with the hub removed as the shoes will not fit over in their assembled state.
