Also try VAG Parts - martyn is very helpful - just got a pair of vented front discs for the rare 1.2TDI A2 - much cheaper than Audi or Eurocarparts. For pads check out VW Polo ones - they are the same but half trhe price!

You can use old pads on new discs, its just that the old pads have to "learn" the disc profile, i.e.they take some time to bed in and reach max performance. New pads always have to do this anyway, although old pads on new discs may take longer.

I had bad brake judder (Sport 17" wheels) - inside of front discs had de-laminated! (surface gone) I replaced with EBC performance discs as Audi pads/discs meant I couldn't even get the ABS switching in on a dry surface...can now though. Cost was £175 for discs & pads.

Quick update from original post...After about four weeks the brakes started to judder terribly again through the steering wheel when braking from 40mph plus. I have just consulted another mechanic and he ssems to think the front discs are worn yet again. Only had them replaced at the end of November last year and done about 2000 miles at the most on this set!! :(

Not a happy bunny! Anyone else had a problem like this? I used ATE discs as they were recommended.
