Broken actuator arm on FSI

Does anyone know where to buy a new actuator arm for my FSI as its broken? My mechanic has told me that the Audi dealer in Ipswich have said its an obsolete part now and cannot be ordered. The car still runs okay but has the EML light on all the time and MOT is in September.

I didn't realise that's it's an obsolete part. May be worth checking that with @CreweAudi It Sounds like its the inlet manifold potentiometer that you are referring to.

Its the actual arm as my mechanic showed me the item a few days ago. Will contact Crewe Audi to confirm thanks and if they are obsolete its another nail in the coffin to keep an A2 with the hassle of finding new parts. I don't really want to fit a second hand as it might not last long as its going to be 14 years old at least.

Its definitely the actuator arm which controls the swirl flaps that is broken and luckily doesn't affect the drive of the vehicle. My mechanic showed me it and I was there to see it was broken. I will contact Crewe Audi thanks just to confirm that the part is obsolete thanks.

Sounds possibly like the plastic part that is not available separately and only comes with a new manifold which regrettably is £450 new. I am not clear, I suspect others are as well, on what has exactly broken, any chance of a photograph to confirm?

I brought this for £45 of a breakers yard I guess some people could call me lucky ?

The reason I needed it was because the actuator rod had snapped :)

Saved me £450 :)

I got lucky paying £45 posted normally they go for £100 minimum used :)

There out there just search breakers like I did

I found that one within a day :)

Funny enough it had a broken bolt in it what needed drilling out after telling the seller it had a snapped bolt left in it and I needed it drilling out he said I’ll send you a £15 refund so in the end it cost me £30

Thanks for all the advice. After spending a while trawling through the internet I have located the part no 036129061A. It is a vacuum control unit with arm and manged to find one from Autodoc in Germany for £91 delivered. My local Audi dealer in Ipswich was useless telling my mechanic that the part was obsolete and unobtainable. So now ordered and once delivered my car Elliot will not have the dreaded EML light on anymore!

Before it is replaced have your mechanic check that the swirl flaps are free to move otherwise it will only break the new unit.

I paid £91 for mine form the same supplier (was about to message on here about it). As catnip says, check the swirl flaps move easily before doing anything else, it has snapped for a reason, usually because the car has been run on normal petrol and the flaps have gunked up and don't move....hence the rod snapping.
Good luck.

Thanks for that advice and will get my mechanic to check the swirl flaps are okay prior to fitting the part. I have always run the car the last six years on Tesco Momentum or Shell V-Power and obviously will continue to do so! I have recently put through a egr/carbon cleaner through the fuel system and could do it again after it has been done as well.
