Not posted for a while as been mega busy with work and decorating. However, Adam and I (mostly Adam) found time to finally install the double din dash that we had retrimmed during July this year.
During this process we changed all the AC sensors behind the dash and added RNSE, an Audi Bluetooth module and a DIS stalk (DIS cluster is the next job). The RNSE install turned into a 3 hour fault finding nightmare as the loom had been pinned incorrectly and we had to bell out every wire and trace the fault. There was also no wire for the Bose pin, so we had to make that, as well as the gala connection to the speedo. To be fair this probably took more time than the actual dash swap.
I cut the RNSE unit down with a hacksaw and emery cloth, it’s a perfect fit but very tight due to the extra leather on each side.
The centre console was also retrimmed, but that was installed a few weeks ago.
The new dash was a bitch to squeeze in due to the extra leather thickness, but I think you’ll agree the result was very worthwhile.
Thanks to @A2Steve for supplying the dash and panels. And thanks to @2work For supplying the RNSE and Bluetooth as well as advice on wiring the gala cable.
I hope you like the results.
