Can a info Display be retro fitted?

I Have just bought a 2001 A2 TDI, SE, which does not have the display unit, in the speedo binicle. Can this be retro fitted, or is it just too difficult?

I was just wondering as a lot of modern cars have all the wiring in place for ease of manufacture?

Hi tourangang, welcome to the world of A2 motoring.
The instrument cluster is only sold as a complete assembly so as a starting point you would need to buy a new or s/h unit with DIS.
If you are considering doing the conversion yourself, Skipton01 usually has workshop manual and parts CD's for sale. These are probably the most worthwhile accessory you could ever buy for your car.
