Can you run the car without the convenience unit?

I need to get mine sorted asap and a local place can repair it but they'll need it for a few days. Is the car useable without it or will I need to beg/borrow/acquire other transport while it's fixed?

Central locking uses it. I think the answer is "no". Interior lights, fuel tank, hatch, certainly the rear doors all work via the CCU.

Ccu

I have just had my CCU repaired by LAU in Germany.

I was completely broken, nothing functioned, no windows, lights, fuel cap, no locking, and the boot wouldn't open.

I took the unit out, which actually made no difference as nothing was working.

LAU fixed it for a third of the price of a new board - great job many thanks.

I may have got lucky with a new one, I'm waiting on a reply, fingers crossed.
If it come good I'll probably get Lau to repair my old one so I have one ready and waiting...

if you read the SSPs available elsewhere, it would seem imply that the car *should* be drivable without the CCU, as the CCU "only" deals with 'comfort' stuff.
