Only to hear it lock..

It's best to call a local locksmith. You've plenty of options, here's one:

If your rear windows are manual wind, they can (with care and patience) be forced open.

Please get a second key cut as a priority.

I assume the spare key isn't available? I did the same thing with my TT once and the AA guy took me on a 20 mile round trip to collect my spare from home, rather than risk damaging the car.
Hope it all works out for you.

"Dead lock". Is that the one in the rear doors, only accessible when the door is actually open? Child lock in other words. I assumed @damadgeruk was referring to the normal door release lever on the inside of the door, not the deadlock/child lock. This is turning into a shaggy dog story thanks to me isn't it? Apologies for any confusion I am spreading @steve_c.

LOCKSMITH and get a second key from him. Make sure you can open the drivers door by using the key in the lock in the exterior handle.

Fix your door microswitch issues.

If you have breakdown cover they can come and use an airbag to push the frame back and get a rod inside.
Never allow airbag use, because the frame alignment can be an issue afterwards. When I locked my keys into Škoda AA guy came with a lock picking tool. Took him 10min of fidling with the lock and he unlocked it.

Fortunately the frame on the A2 doors can be adjusted unlike one piece conventional doors, but still not a good idea to use an airbag as the force on the frame mounting points could cause damage and cracking. The shape of the window frame has been designed to make access through there difficult so the frame needs to be forced out further than you would expect

ALWAYS have a minimum of 2 working keys. Ensure the door microswitches are working correctly and that you can manually unlock the drivers door using the key in the exterior handle.

If going on a trip take a spare key with you. A plastic valet key ( as originally supplied with the 2 keys ) is ideal to unlock the car if your remote key has been locked inside the car. The plastic valet key I have is a replacement for the long lost original and has the ability to be fitted with an ID48 chip to allow engine start once programmed to the car.
