Have finally got round to putting a car kit my FSI. I have a Nokia 6210i Orange and asked the dealer if they fitted a kit. "No, but we use......". I am appalled at the bracket they have installed! Its a nasty piece of black ,metal that has several exposed holes in it. When I checked with the firm they claim its an A2 bracket. Me thinks not!
It works fine and the aerial is very neat but has anyone got any advice as to where I can get a 'nicer' bracket. Incidently, it makes the radio not fir completely flush into the dash. Nice!!

Thanks for the promo Lee.
The link is actually in the forum members section (members marketplace) - as they offer a good members discount. For info, see: http://www.a2forum.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1823 (Members only of course!)

They also make a very nice phone console mount which I have installed in my car...

Just to put a damper on these please note that the only phones that can be legally used in a car after December (forget whether it is 1st or 31st) are those that are voice activated, play though the cars speakers, and have no wired connection to the driver (earpieces are out).

If you have to select a number by pushing buttons or key it in, have an earpiece, or change your position to use the phone then it will bwe illegal to use it when the ignition is on.

More info on DpT Website.

Why are NEARLY all the A2s in Lichfield are silver ? ? ?

hmmm... I still maintain the best system and least intrusive to your car is a £4-99 magnet from Carphone Warehouse:

Ignore my portable carkit plugged into the cigarette lighter and just imagine a Bluetooth one... so all you will see is the magnet!

I Have exactly that, a Nokia 6310i, a magnet and a nokia bluetooth car kit. This should be legal after december as it is voice activated and the button can be placed anywhere you like so can be ergonomically accessed and is quite cheap. I have seen the kit for £100 online and the fitting cost me £50.

If you use the phone a lot in the car it is a must have.
