So.... have just come off this website....
It has a very useful comparison feature. I'd already put my Reg. No. into BlackCircles and it gave me four potential tyre/wheel combinations. 175/60R15 - 185/50R16 - 195/45R16 - 205/40R17. I compared all 4 of those with my current setup... 195/55R15... using the feature on the tyresizecalculator website and found that, of the two most likely original Audi factory UK wheel/tyres combos,
(a) the 185/50R16 sidewall height is 14mm less at 93mm, & circumference smaller by 15mm at 1856
(b) the 195/45R16 sidewall height is 19mm less at 88mm, & circumference smaller by 44mm at 1829
It's looking like if I want those nice original A2 UK version 6 spokes its (a) I'll have to go for; and probably what would have been fitted when the car was new. Why ever they were changed for 195/55R15........ I don't have a clue.
Steve-c is probably right about those shocks and springs. Probably tired... more unplanned bloody expense.
